Teddy’s Christening in Lewes | Documentary Christening Photography in Sussex

Natural christening photography with a documentary approach. Christening photographer based in Brighton and Hove, but working all over Sussex. Boy getting christened with family, vicar and parents holding him.

Earlier this Summer I had the opportunity to document a very special day in a little boy’s life: his Christening! Being invited to capture this event as a Brighton Family Photographer was a real honour and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Teddy lives with his parents in East Dulwich (my old neighbourhood in London!), but the Christening took place at St Mary’s Church in Glynde (not far from Lewes). As Teddy’s mum Jess got all of the family together before the ceremony at her mother’s house in Hove, we decided to start our photoshoot there. I managed to get some lovely informal unposed family photos of everyone before it was time to get in the car to drive to Lewes.

Teddy’s Christening was nothing like your usual Christening ceremony. The Reverend, Peter Owen Jones, besides being an Anglican priest, is also an author, environmentalist and television presenter and made the whole ceremony such a relaxed, fun and engaging event. The sun was out that day, Teddy did great and I am so pleased with how these Christening portraits turned out!

Do you have a Christening or Baptism coming up and would you like to have this special family milestone document then I’d love to capture the day for you.
