FAQs

All the answers to your questions about my newborn, family, maternity and other family milestone photoshoots in Brighton & Hove

  • I totally understand feeling uneasy in front of the camera, let’s be honest, it’s probably no one’s favourite, but there's truly no need to worry. My approach to family photography is relaxed, natural and authentic - all you need to focus on is enjoying spending time with your child(ren) - it’s my job to make you forget about the camera. Simply be present, interact as a family and embrace every moment of the beautiful chaos.

During your photography session, my aim is to capture the true essence of your family. I won’t be asking you to look at the camera as my goal is to capture real emotions and connections that evolve naturally.

  • This is totally up to you! Newborn shoots are always done at home, but we can definitely also include some outdoor newborn portraits if you feel up to it.

My Family Slice Of Life sessions also start off at home, but I always try taking families outside as well.

In Sussex we are spoiled for choices, we can go for a stroll at Hove beach, explore the Lanes or the Pier in Brighton, go crabbing in Rottingdean, go for ice cream at Hove Lagoon, you name it!

I live in Hove, but photograph families in Brighton, Worthing, Lewes, Shoreham, Eastbourne, basically all over Sussex and in London as well.

  • I do offer family photo sessions both during the week as well as on the weekends. Weekend slots do tend to book up fairly quickly (especially in Spring and Summer months!) so I always advise families to book their shoot well in advance.

Regarding timings of your photo session I prefer to start as early as possible when the kids are still “fresh” and we can avoid the crowds - if we are heading out to capture your family photos outdoors.

  • My priority is that you and your family feel comfortable and at ease during your photography session with me. So please wear whatever you feel most relaxed in!

That being said, I would advise people to avoid dressing all in black, or wearing too much red (as it can become a bit overpowering in photographs).

  • Absolutely! I’m more than happy to reserve 10 to 15 minutes of your photo session to get those family portraits that many, including often the grandparents, would like to have to hang on their walls.

  • Approximately two to four weeks after your photo session with me you’ll receive a link to your online private gallery where you can select your favourite images for you to download and keep in both hi-res and low-res.

  • All my photoshoots come with complimentary print credit that you can spend in the online shop that is linked to your private gallery.

There’s a variety of products to choose from: fine art prints, photo albums, framed photos, calendars and even Christmas ornaments!

  • Yes I do! You can choose to give a voucher for a specific photoshoot or for a set value redeemable for a photography session.

I am based in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, but also work all over Sussex, London and the surrounding areas! More info about my gift voucher can be found here.
