My story
If you're just curious to find out more about my story, you are in the right spot!

About me

So, where to begin? My story starts in a small town in the Netherlands - which is just how you'd imagine it to be, picturesque, flat and lots windmills, cows, and bikes!

When I  finished school I spent the summer working on a campsite in Italy - which I think must have awoken my adventurous soul. I went on to study in Costa Rica, volunteer in Guatemala, write my Master thesis in Buenos Aires, and live and work in Australia and then Sri Lanka.

My itchy feet (I hate socks and am almost always in my beloved Havaianas!) finally took me to London. Here I met my husband - and we moved to South East London, I gave birth to our daughter, and we kissed goodbye to lie ins.

Since becoming a mum my life has changed quite a bit - but although there is a lot less travelling involved, there are definitely still lots of adventures! Only now they are no longer solo, but with the three of us, as a family. I can't wait until Ivy is old enough to take her to more far flung lands, but for now we'll just have to feed her imagination a little closer to home.

I love meeting new people,  travelling (can you tell?) and good food - and  I can't do without black coffee, real Dutch cheese and humour. I'm also really good at playing MarioKart. Seriously, challenge me any time!

My photography style

I love the joyfunhumour and happy chaos of family life - something I try to reflect in my work. For me it's all about capturing the tiny moments that say something unique about you and your family. Whether it's messy meal times, splashy bath times or a day in the park, it's the seemingly insignificant details, captured on camera unposed and unfiltered, that show the individuality of each and every family.

My approach to documentary family photography celebrates the beautiful everyday. I like to immerse myself into your home routines and blend into the background. There will be no awkward posing. You'll forget I'm even there. And as a result the images I capture will show you your family story. Real life is far from boring!
