Family Photography in Clapham: A Beautiful Day on Wandsworth Common
A morning spent capturing family moments at home in Clapham before heading to Wandsworth Common for some outdoor portraits
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely family in Clapham, South West London.
Beginning the session indoors gave the girls space to be themselves: playing together, finishing their morning snack, and showing their personalities in a setting that felt completely natural. These moments always make for some of the most treasured photographs, because they reflect real family life as it is right now.
Later, we stepped outside into the open space of Wandsworth Common. The girls ran across the grass, explored under the trees, and enjoyed the freedom of being outdoors. It gave me the chance to capture the more candid, playful side of family life, the kind of images that bring memories back instantly when you look at them in years to come. With an ice cream van parked in the park, it only made sense to end the session with a sweet treat.
One of the things I love about photographing families in Clapham is the choice of beautiful outdoor spaces. From Clapham Common to Wandsworth Common, and plenty of smaller green corners in between, there are so many spots that make the perfect backdrop for relaxed family portraits.
