Capturing Real Moments on a London Holiday
There’s something special about photographing people when they’re in a place that’s new to them. Everything feels fresher, more vivid. I recently had the chance to do just that: a session in London with a Belgian family, walking through the city, discovering corners together, and letting the day unfold.
Shooting in Dutch
I loved being able to speak Dutch with the kids during the session. It made our interactions easy and relaxed, and those genuine moments show in the photos.
The Walk
I met this lovely family on a Saturday morning at St Dunstan in the East. The ruins and gardens offered a quiet, textured space with soft light, perfect for family portraits. From there we walked to Tower Bridge, soaking in the energy of the city, and ended the day at Borough Market, where a hot sauce tasting turned into a fun little challenge, the kind of moment that makes a trip memorable!
Why This Matters
Family photography, especially while traveling, is about more than posed pictures. It’s about catching the in-between moments: the curious glances, the laughter, the shared experiences that make a trip unique. These are the memories that last beyond the snapshots on your phone.
From Tower Bridge to Borough Market, a London vacation shoot that turned a holiday into lasting memories.
Thinking About Your Own Vacation Shoot
If you’re visiting London and would like photographs that capture your time here in a natural, relaxed way, I’d love to hear from you. A vacation shoot can be as simple as walking through the city together, seeing where the day takes us, and letting the real moments happen.
