Family Photographer Dulwich & East Dulwich | Natural Lifestyle Photography, London
Authentic Family Portraits in Dulwich, Peckham, Nunhead, herne hill and across South East London
authentic, storytelling family, newborn and maternity photography in the comfort of your home or at beautiful outdoor locations across Dulwich.
Relaxed, natural, and nothing like a photoshoot
Most people feel a bit self-conscious in front of a camera. That's completely normal, and it's exactly what I'm there to take care of.
You don't need to know how to pose, what to wear, or what to do with your hands. My job is to get everyone relaxed enough that they stop thinking about the camera - and then photograph what happens next.
The results tend to look like your family on a good day, in a place you love, doing the things you actually do.
That's what makes them worth keeping.
lifestyle family photography in Dulwich, South East London
A family photo session isn’t just about posing for the camera. It’s about capturing genuine moments: the way you interact, laugh, and spend time together.
Whether at home with the kids, in either East Dulwich or Peckham Rye Park, or going for a stroll along Lordship Lane, I focus on creating natural, timeless images that feel true to you and your family.
What to expect from your Dulwich family photoshoot
✔️ Relaxed & natural: gentle guidance so you can be yourselves at home, at Goose Green playground, or exploring Dulwich Woods together.

meet your Dulwich family photographer.
Hi, I’m Irma, an award-winning family & newborn photographer working in East Dulwich, Dulwich Village, Nunhead, Herne Hill and all across South East London.
I create natural, storytelling images that reflect who you are as a family.
Some families book me the week their baby arrives. Others wait until their third child is walking and realise they have almost no photos of all of them together. Wherever you are in that journey, I'll come to you.
Why Dulwich families choose me
✔️ I come to you: Your home, Peckham Rye, Dulwich Park - wherever feels most natural. No studio, no travelling with the kids, no unfamiliar setting to adjust to.
✔️ Children set the pace: I work around nap times, snack breaks, and the occasional meltdown. The unscripted moments in between are usually the best ones anyway.
✔️ Nothing is staged I don't pose families. I watch how you already move together and photograph that. The images end up looking like you, which is the whole point.
✔️ Honest images that last Light edits, natural tones, no heavy filters. In ten years these will still look like photographs, not like a trend.

Faqs
-
Absolutely! I love including your pets and additional family members, just let me know in advance so we can plan the session accordingly.
-
Yes! Many families love starting at home for natural lifestyle shots and then heading to a favourite park, cafe, playground, or Dulwich Woods for outdoor images. This gives a great mix of candid and scenic photos.
-
I’m flexible! If the weather is truly awful on your scheduled day, we can easily reschedule to another date so you still get beautiful outdoor family photos in the best possible conditions.
-
Sessions typically run 1.5–2 hours, giving plenty of time for children to warm up, explore, and for natural, relaxed moments to unfold.
-
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! There’s no need for coordinated outfits, the most important thing is that your family feels like themselves. Simple, natural clothing that allows you to move, play, and enjoy the session works best. Of course, if you’d like to coordinate your outfits, that’s perfectly fine too.
-
You’ll normally receive your fully edited images via a private online gallery within 2–3 weeks of your session. During busier periods, such as Christmas and summer, it may take closer to a month.

Where we shoot: the best locations for family photography in Dulwich
Dulwich is one of the best-served areas in London for outdoor family photography. Here are the spots I use most.
Peckham Rye Park & Common
The park and the common together give you a huge variety in a small area - the formal gardens at the park end for something structured, the wide open common for children who need to run, and the wooded paths along the edges for dappled, sheltered light. The Japanese garden section is particularly good in spring. It's my most-used Dulwich location, and for good reason.
Dulwich Park
Dulwich Park has a quieter, more considered feel than Peckham Rye. The American Garden - with its rhododendrons and mature planting - is particularly beautiful in late spring and gives a completely different backdrop to anything you'd find on an open common. The park's wide paths and open lawns work well for families with younger children, and the café near the gate makes a natural end point to the session.
Dulwich Woods & Sydenham Hill Wood
For something wilder and more atmospheric, the woods on the hill above Dulwich Village are remarkable for being inside London at all. Dappled light year-round, bluebells in spring, brilliant autumn colour - and almost always quiet. Better suited to families with children old enough to navigate roots and slopes, but the results are unlike anything you'd get in a manicured park.
Lordship Lane & East Dulwich | in-home sessions
Not every family wants a park shoot, and East Dulwich homes tend to be ideal for in-home sessions - the Victorian and Edwardian terraces have high ceilings, big bay windows, and the kind of natural light that makes indoor photography genuinely beautiful. If you'd rather stay home, that works just as well.
