Newborn Photographer Watford | At Home Newborn Session with Kit and her mums

I’m still buzzing from this recent at home documentary newborn session in Watford! I’m so grateful that Abby and Laura trusted me as their newborn photographer and welcomed me into their home in Watford to document the early days as a brand new family of three.

A newborn session can be booked in any time from just a few weeks after you have given birth to a few months after your baby is born - and I do a lot of sessions when babies are a few months old. But it was so lovely to capture those very early days for Abby and Laura, as Kit was only three weeks old on the day of the shoot!

I arrived around lunchtime (the shoot was planned for the morning, but we had to push it back by a few hours due to the heavy rain) and Abby and Laura were just finishing lunch - whilst feeding Kit. We started off in the living room and then slowly made our way upstairs to take some pictures in the nursery. They did such a brilliant job - Kit’s room honestly looks like a nursery straight out of Pinterest: beautifully decorated, with some awesome girl power books, gorgeous picture frames on the wall and cute outfits in the wardrobe.

I’ve done a couple of newborn shoots in St Albans before, but this was the first time I have photographed a brand new family in Watford. When we had our pre-consultation over the phone I asked Abby if there was an outdoor location nearby where we could take some outdoor portraits, as I’m not familiar with Watford at all. Luckily they live really close to Cassiobury Park - one of the most loved parks in Hertfordshire, and the perfect opportunity for me to get my zoom lens (Nikon70-200mm f/4G) out of my camera bag to take some natural portraits of Kit and her mummies.

I am so pleased with these documentary newborn photos and I hope you like them as much as I do.

Welcome to the world Kit!
