Brighton Baby Photography | A Newborn shoot in Preston Park

Newborn photography sessions are always exciting but, when it’s a shoot for people you’ve photographed before, it just makes it all extra special!

Serin’s baby photo shoot was originally planned for when she was just a couple of weeks old, but unfortunately this had to be postponed because the poor little girl wasn’t well and had to spend a few nights in hospital.

I was so relieved when Dharshan, Serin’s father, contacted me to let me know that she was all better and that they were all ready for their newborn photo session.

Maternity and newborn photography often go hand in hand. I photographed Gokce when she was 36 weeks pregnant, it was a very relaxed at home maternity shoot - and we had the same thing in mind for their newborn shoot.

Dharshan and Gokce live in Preston Park, which is only a five minute train ride from Hove, so super easy to get to. When I arrived at their home we had some lovely natural light coming into the flat. So I took some gorgeous baby family portraits near the window as well as some candid shots on the sofa.

Creative newborn photography at home captures the profound moments of early parenthood with authenticity, and documents those special, crazy days in an artistic way.

Photographing genuine emotions and interactions between parents and their child(ren) is what I’m after in all my photo sessions and I am so glad that I was able to get those authentic newborn portraits for these two!

If you are currently pregnant, or recently became a parent (congratulations!), and are thinking of booking a newborn photography session - then I would love to hear from you!

My sessions are very relaxed and informal, and are done in the comfort of your own home.
